CHARACTERISTICS OF A JESUS-MOVEMENT
MLC identifies 100 Jesus-Movements and mDNA Training Partners as organizations which demonstrate the six characteristics below.
A Jesus-Movement reflects, embodies, and pursues these characteristics:
A commitment to see Jesus-Movements and Christlike leaders across geography, gender, race, and ethnic background, with a desire to shift the tracks of history.
An active embracing and embodying of the paradigm and practice of integrating all six mDNA components into their organization (throughout their organization, leaders, systems, and processes).
An active engagement in producing resources, developing training, and equipping which ensures their own and other organizations become more movemental (as part of the mX Platform or the 100MProject).
The embodied values of ReJesus (demonstration of Christlike character and perspective), Scenius (orientation towards collaboration, partnership, and peer learning), and Move/Mental (conviction and capacity to multiply and scale over multiple generations) in their actions and interactions as an organization.
Demonstrable competence in movement dynamics, expressed through two or more of the six mDNA components as described in The Forgotten Ways as an organization.
Open to learning from other organizations and are sharing their learning with others (either in a geography or focus area) through training and resources.
Working towards 100
To see lasting transformation, we need multiple movements. We’re not at 100 yet, but we’re in the process of identifying, training, and empowering organizations and individuals focused on missional movements.
